On the 6th Through 9th Days of Christmas, GOBL Gave to Me

OK, so I’m way behind on my gift giving. I’m going to try to make it up with the following verses:

Nine songwriters singing
Eight moons a waving
Seven times for all you’ve done
Six oranges jibing

I’m combining several giveaways in this one post.  However, you can only win ONE of these prizes, and I’ll update the blog as prizes are won.  Here are the rules for winning:

The nine songwriters singing refers to my Ghost of Blind Lemon Acoustiganza show January 9th at Opening Bell Coffee.  Truth is, though, there’s really ten artists performing, but one was kept secret until recently.  The first person to “Talk to the Ghost” and tell me that singer’s name will get $10 store credit if they attend the Acoustiganza.  You MUST attend the Acoustiganza to redeem your prize.
UPDATE: Congratulations to John Grant, who correctly identified Nicholas Altobelli as the former mystery guest. He’ll get a $10 store credit at Opening Bell Coffee at the Acoustiganza.

There aren’t eight moons waving; it’s just a cheesy reference to the band Moon Waves.  You can win tickets to see that band along with Party Static and Daniel Markham this Saturday for a King Camel Productions show at Three Links.  All you have to do is be the first to “Talk to the Ghost” and name the song for which Moon Waves won the Best Digital Single.
UPDATE:  Justin Casey knew that Moon Waves’ “Lapse” won for Best Digital Single, so he’ll be partying the night away at Three Links with the band, as well as Party Static and Daniel Markham.

You should recognize the line “seven times for all you’ve done” from Ducado Vega and Zenya Vi‘s song “Seven”.  If you want to see them play live New Year’s Eve at Red’s Roadhouse, be the first to “Talk to the Ghost” and name one of the four videos the band released this year to win.
UPDATE:  All y’all should be ashamed for letting these tickets go to waste.  You could have typed in “Sex in Da Club”, “Redemption’s Potion”, “Bird in a Cage”, or “Hella” to win.  But you didn’t.  What a shame.

Oh, and Oranges don’t literally Jibe, but The Orange is playing with Jibe (shown above) February 20th at Trees.  I’ll make this one easy.  The first person to “Talk to the Ghost” and name any song off of The Oranges’ Sharing Vitamins wins the tickets.

Good luck to all!

  • Monday Mixteen: 5/4/2020 As this month began, Governor Abbott officially started the process of reopening the state.  Malls and restaurants are among the places that have been reopened, albeit with restrictions.  Personally, The Ghost recommends you follow the hidden advice within a previous playlist, but that’s just my two cents worth. Whether the restrictions remain lifted, or the [...]

Now that we’ve made it into the Top 50, I suppose The Ghost should add a little commentary for each track.  Fine, I can do that, especially since I only have to do that for ten songs.  Yes, it’s an unusually short playlist today.  That’s because I’ve saved the remaining Top 40 for Sunday afternoon.  [...]
