GOBL Presents Rat Rios, Tomkat, Francine Thirteen (Photos by Nick Scholl)

DSC_0370

I thank Nick Scholl for taking these lovely photographs from my showcase at The Underpass earlier in February. The photos, however, do not tell the full story. The photos cannot show the unique intensity of the ritualistic performance of Francine Thirteen. No picture appropriate demonstrates the live skills of Tomkat. And no matter how good a photographer Mr. Scholl is, his camera cannot capture the beauty of Rat Rios‘ voice. Still, Nick’s photography does manage to capture much of the beauty in the performers and the performance.

  • GOBL Radio: June 2018 Highlights You kids today have it so easy. You got your podcasts that you can listen to at whatever moment your heart desires. When I was your age, we only had radio shows, and if you didn’t listen to it when it came on, you’d miss it forever. Oh, and we had to walk uphill for [...]
  • Monday Mixteen: 6/25/18 A follower of the blog suggested that I do more theme based playlist. I suspect what that individual had in mind was playlists based on either genre or mood. The problem is that I tend to gravitate towards highly eclectic playlists. From time to time, I will do a playlist with a strong theme. Today [...]
