Charley Crockett at Granada Theater

I’ve been to many local shows at the Granada, but I cannot recall the last time I saw a crowd so large and enthusiastic for a Dallas act as it was Saturday night for the release of the new Charley Crockett album, In the Night.  Audience members like myself could feel the energy in the air that night.  The musical chemistry between Crockett and the audience was at an intensity level that is rarely felt at a concert.

These intangibles, of course, cannot be seen in the photographs below.  Still, these are some beautiful photographs of Crockett’s performance, all courtesy of Lyza Renee.  She also captured some lovely photographs of The Texas Gentlemen (featuring cameos from Larry Gee and Kirk Thurmond, just to name a few) and Vincent Neil Emerson & The Old Souls.  To see more of Lyza’s photography, I would encourage you to look up both her Facebook and Instagram pages.  But first, check out these photos from Saturday night’s concert.

  • Monday Mixteen 10/30/17: Part II The Ghost has always thought it to be rather cliched to do songs about ghosts, ghouls, goblins, and the like for Halloween.  Instead of using the obvious imagery, I like to use a different comparison for this holiday.  Halloween is a time for dressing up as a different creature.  The closest musical kin to dressing [...]
  • Monday Mixteen: 10/23/17 Do not let the cover photo give you the wrong idea.  It’s not that The Ghost is only about the benjamins.  No, the blog is truly a labor of love.  Having said that, there are many endeavors that I would like to take on, and some extra money would help me better pursue those endeavors.  [...]
  • Video Wednesday: 10/4/17 Changing things up on this Video Wednesday (aka VW), and for the first time, I’m not using a photo of a Volkswagen for this edition of VW.  Instead, I used a screenshot from the new Charcutery video for “Take a Hint.”  If you’re not familiar with that name, perhaps you remember the name Trey Johnson.  [...]
