Charley Crockett at Granada Theater

DSCF4510

I’ve been to many local shows at the Granada, but I cannot recall the last time I saw a crowd so large and enthusiastic for a Dallas act as it was Saturday night for the release of the new Charley Crockett album, In the Night.  Audience members like myself could feel the energy in the air that night.  The musical chemistry between Crockett and the audience was at an intensity level that is rarely felt at a concert.

These intangibles, of course, cannot be seen in the photographs below.  Still, these are some beautiful photographs of Crockett’s performance, all courtesy of Lyza Renee.  She also captured some lovely photographs of The Texas Gentlemen (featuring cameos from Larry Gee and Kirk Thurmond, just to name a few) and Vincent Neil Emerson & The Old Souls.  To see more of Lyza’s photography, I would encourage you to look up both her Facebook and Instagram pages.  But first, check out these photos from Saturday night’s concert.

  • Monday Mixteen: 5/18/2020 This past Saturday, former President Obama was the commencement speaker, so to speak, for the graduating Class of 2020.  It is certainly unorthodox to have a former President give a commencement speech to a nation of graduates.  These times, however, have been anything but orthodox. So, continuing in that unorthodox vain, why not do a [...]
  • Monday Mixteen: 4/27/2020 Yes, these are trying times, and some days it feels like you have less to give. Giving into despair would be easy.  Yet it’s in these cases it’s more critical than ever to continue to give everything your A-game. That’s what The Ghost is doing for this week’s Monday Mixteen.  The A-game is strong with [...]
  • Monday Mixteen: 3/23/2020 What kind of playlist do we need at a time like this?  Should The Ghost rely on tried and true favorites, or venture into the territory of new releases and undiscovered artists?  Should the message in these songs be one of hope that we need, or the despair so many of us feel?  There is [...]
  • Monday Mixteen: 9/2/19 Today is Labor Day, which to many signifies the end of Summer. With Fall right around the corner, that can only mean one thing. No, I’m not not talking about Pumpkin Spice latte, or Pumpkin Spice body wash, or Pumpkin Spice Whiskey. I’m talking about Ghosty Awards. This year will mark the 5th Annual Ghosty [...]
