So, if you missed it yesterday, The Ghost has started his year end countdown.  Unlike previous years, this is the first year that Texas songs (and “Sorta Texas” songs) are eligible to chart on the countdown.  Also, you’ve probably noticed that in past countdowns, I limit each artist to one song.  This year, I’m making one exception, allowing the artist with my #1 song of the year two songs on the countdown.  Who is that, you ask?  Like I’m gonna tell you.  You have to wait until New Year’s Eve to discover who holds the top spot.

If you need catching up on the countdown, click here to see #101-81.  Now, on with the countdown…

  1. One Red Martian, “Driving Song”
  2. Skinny Cooks, “Glitzkrieg”
  3. Bonnie Whitmore, “F**k With Sad Girls”
  4. Bronco Simmons, “Younger Days”
  5. Midnight County, “By My Side”
  6. The Gibbonses, “Tough as Nails”
  7. Ishi, “Classic Lips”
  8. Fea, “You Can’t Change Me”
  9. Mean Motor Scooter, “Such a Seducer”
  10. The Roomsounds, “Elm St.”

  • Video Wednesday (VW): 10/25/17 Before I begin today’s Video Wednesday, let me remind my readers that I am very comfortable with the idea of selling out and getting a sponsor.  My deal is still open to allow any Volkswagen dealership the opportunity to sponsor Video Wednesday.  That’s why it’s on a Wednesday: so I can call it VW.  Other [...]

  • Monday Mixteen: 10/16/17 Last Tuesday was World Mental Health Day, and in case you missed it, The Ghost had a bit to say on the matter.  My original intent was just to share a few songs that addressed the issue, but it soon became clear that the story was supposed to be much more than that.  As a [...]
  • Monday Mixteen: 10/2/17 Back in my youth, Bryan Adams recorded a song called “Kids Wanna Rock.”  Question the messenger if you will, but Mr. Adams certainly understood the youth of that time period.  The Ghost has noticed that, lately, many of the kids could not care less about rocking out.  It seems these young whippersnappers would rather dance [...]
