Monday Mpotify Mixteen?

greensidewayscassette

Last week, I did not feel well and skipped creating a Sunday Spotify Sixteen. I started creating a playlist yesterday, but failed to complete it. Since The Ghost has been way too quiet lately, I did not want to let another week go by without a Spotify playlist. Problem is, Sunday is past, meaning there is no Sunday Spotify 16. I wanted to get a playlist, but my fixation on alliteration wouldn’t allow for a Monday Spotify 16. Desperate times call for desperate measures, so I introduce the first (and hopefully last) Monday Mpotify Mixteen.

How does one stream songs on Mpotify? Where does mixteen fall on the number line? These are questions clearly above The Ghost’s pay grade. All I know is that I have lots of cool new tracks to introduce to you, plus a few local Christmas classics. Enough chit chat here, let’s start the Monday Mpotify Mixteen.

  1. In Memory of Man, “Broke Down and Left for Dead”
  2. Svenny Baby!, “Crystalline”
  3. [DARYL], “A Wonderful Christmas Time”
  4. Sarah Sellers, “Gone Through Hell”
  5. Luke Wade, “Passenger Side”
  6. Mobley + Catch Fever, “Dreamers”
  7. Bravo, Max!, “Bullfighter Blues”
  8. I Happy Am, “Fragile”
  9. Night Drive, “Rise and Fall”
  10. Kirby Brown, “Joni”
  11. Carry Illinois, “Electric Charm”
  12. Sudie, “FAQ”
  13. Girl Blue, “Fire Under Water”
  14. KP and The Boom Boom, “Hungry for the Dollar”
  15. RC & The Gritz, “I’ll Be Waiting for You”
  16. Becky Middleton, “Silent Night”

I certainly chose the name Ghost of Blind Lemon in part as a tribute to Dallas’ first major blues musician to take residence here, Blind Lemon Jefferson. But [...]
  • Monday Mixteen: 7/22/19 Politics are an area that I’ve always been reluctant to discuss on the blog.  After all, this is a music blog, not a political one.  With the level of vitriol being spread in our country right now, however, I feel that I cannot continue to stay silent.  The level of racism and hate being spouted [...]
  • The Ghostified Gathering For a week or so, Festify was all the rage on social media. It was an app that created fictitious festival lineups based on one’s Spotify listening habits. One could create a lineup based on the most listened to artists over the course of a month, six months, or one’s entire time on Spotify. The [...]
  • Monday Mixteen: 1/14/19 You may notice that the songs in the below playlist are in the alternating order of the letters S & M. Yes, The Ghost realizes that this theme may be rather controversial. I could have easily shied away from it, but it seems pointless to try to hide one’s deepest desires. Several readers will find [...]
  • The Ghost’s Top 101 of 2018: #7... Another day, another reveal of countdown songs.  Yesterday, you saw #101-71.  #70 is something of a rebel.  It’s one of one two songs in the countdown that is currently unavailable on Spotify.  You can take that up with Starside R&D on January 5, when they perform at Double-Wide along with Kid Fight and Sandovall.  So [...]
