Last Tuesday was World Mental Health Day, and in case you missed it, The Ghost had a bit to say on the matter. My original intent was just to share a few songs that addressed the issue, but it soon became clear that the story was supposed to be much more than that. As a result, the songs were put on the back burner to address how mental health issues affect the local music community.
Today, however, seemed the right time to share these songs. Some of these focus more on the sadness and depression, others are the ray of light on the other side. Both sides are needed to tell the full range of the story. I invite you to listen to these songs, and perhaps through hearing the artist’s lyrics, it might provide some light and insight on the matter, whether it be for you or someone close to you.
