GOBL Radio: June 2018 Highlights

Blue Light Bold June 2018 GOBL

You kids today have it so easy. You got your podcasts that you can listen to at whatever moment your heart desires. When I was your age, we only had radio shows, and if you didn’t listen to it when it came on, you’d miss it forever. Oh, and we had to walk uphill for three miles in the snow to get to school, and we had to walk another three miles uphill in the snow to get back home. You know, because we lived in a small town that looked like an M.C. Escher illustration.

Yes, The Ghost gets it. You want to be able to listen to GOBL Radio on your timeline. Alas, due to all sorts of legal stuffs, Deep Ellum Radio is not able to rebroadcast the show on a podcast at this time. That means to get The Ghost’s deep insights, you’ll have to listen to the show every Wednesday night 7-9 PM CST (or at least catch the rebroadcast Thursday afternoon 1-3 PM). If you just want a taste of what you missed on my show, every month, I do a Spotify playlist recapping some of the best tracks featured during the course of the month. Here’s a little of what you missed out on this month.

  • Monday Mixteen: 7/9/18 In case you missed the announcement, The Ghost will be celebrating his 11 year anniversary at Double-Wide on August 4th with psuper psychedelic pshowcase.  Sorry, The Ghost gets a little fixated on alliteration.  The point is that Sunbuzzed, Corner Suns, and Caved Mountains will be providing the sounds at Double-Wide for what is bound to [...]
  • Monday Mixteen: 7/2/18 You know, it’s been awhile since The Ghost put on a show.  The 11 year anniversary of the blog is coming soon, and The Ghost “might” make a concert announcement tomorrow.  To get you hyped for the announcement, I have curated a playlist featuring sixteen acts that have previously performed as part of Ghost of [...]
  • Threekend: 6/29/18 Hmmm… seems that the calendar could use a little updating.  The Ghost will work on that this weekend.  Really.  Right now, there are more pressing priorities, such as determining what the best shows to see are this weekend.  There are more selections in the calendar (which still needs updating), but these are The Ghost’s three [...]
  • Monday Mixteen: 6/25/18 A follower of the blog suggested that I do more theme based playlist. I suspect what that individual had in mind was playlists based on either genre or mood. The problem is that I tend to gravitate towards highly eclectic playlists. From time to time, I will do a playlist with a strong theme. Today [...]
