Monday Mixteen: 6/25/18

A follower of the blog suggested that I do more theme based playlist. I suspect what that individual had in mind was playlists based on either genre or mood. The problem is that I tend to gravitate towards highly eclectic playlists. From time to time, I will do a playlist with a strong theme. Today will not be one of those days.

Actually, I take that back. There is a theme to today’s playlist… sort of. I’ve come to enjoy doing what I call “acrostic playlists”. For those who don’t recall acrostic poems from high school, it’s a poem where the first letter of each line spells out a word. Today’s acrostic playlist commemorates a famous battle in United States History that happened on this day in 1876. It’s the Battle of Little Big Horn, a decisive victory in a battle over land between the U.S. and Native American tribes. Indian chiefs such as Sitting Bull and Crazy Horse had military victories so strong that the battle earned a nickname named after the defeated general. The unofficial name for the battle can be found in the acrostic playlist.
