Monday Mixteen: 7/9/18

In case you missed the announcement, The Ghost will be celebrating his 11 year anniversary at Double-Wide on August 4th with psuper psychedelic pshowcase.  Sorry, The Ghost gets a little fixated on alliteration.  The point is that Sunbuzzed, Corner Suns, and Caved Mountains will be providing the sounds at Double-Wide for what is bound to be a great night.

Considering that two bands begin with C, and the other with S, it seemed like a good time to do a Sesame Street style sponsorship playlist.  So yes, this playlist is brought to you by the letters C, S, and the number 1.  I really wanted to get the number 11 in on the sponsorship, but The Ghost couldn’t find any “eleven” songs to use, plus what is 11 but two ones put together?

Speaking of 11, this is a good playlist for cranking up to eleven, as most of the songs are heavier in nature.  It’s worth noting that there might be some announcements soon involving a few other bands on the playlist.  And that’s all The Ghost is going to say for now.

  1. Sunbuzzed, “Creepin'”
  2. The Delzells, “Snide Reply”
  3. Here Holy Spain, “Way Out One in Five”
  4. Mean Motor Scooter, “Sea Serpent”
  5. Caved Mountains, “Take What’s Mine”
  6. Upsetting, “Spring Break”
  7. A Giant Dog, “Sleep When Dead”
  8. Corner Suns, “I’m Not the Only One
  9. Fat by the Gallon, “Calm Down”
  10. Baboon, “Saturday”
  11. Mind Spiders, “Shock And Repeat”
  12. Bloody Knives, “Slicer Repeater”
  13. Bad James, “Snake Boy vs. Cake Boy”
  14. Sonar Lights, “Take the Money and Run”
  15. Sealion, “Sleep”
  16. Chilldren of Indigo, “Perfected Imperfections”

  • Monday Mixteen: 6/24/19 What a weekend this has been for The Ghost.  I want to give a huge thank you to Opening Bell Coffee for letting me host my Acoustiganza there, to all the talented musicians who played, and for everyone who came and supported the local musicians. This weekend promises to be a big one for shows [...]
  • The Ghostified Gathering For a week or so, Festify was all the rage on social media. It was an app that created fictitious festival lineups based on one’s Spotify listening habits. One could create a lineup based on the most listened to artists over the course of a month, six months, or one’s entire time on Spotify. The [...]
  • Monday Mixteen: 3/11/19 A funny thing happened on the way to making last week’s Monday Mixteen. WordPress would not allow me to log in to update. Even once that issue was resolved, several previously published articles disappeared. Bah humbug. The plan was to make last week’s Monday Mixteen a tribute to Three Links’ anniversary weekend, and to promote [...]
  • Monday Mixteen: 1/21/19 To celebrate the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday today, I felt it should be something that was incorporated in today’s Monday Mixteen.  The Ghost’s first instinct was to do another acrostic playlist, with the song titles spelling out his name (minus the Jr. part).  While I kept with that theme, I felt it was not [...]
